Fall Vacaville Strong Dog
Vacaville Strong! What a year 2020 has been!

Our hearts are with the fire victims of the LNU Complex Fire. This huge disaster has touched the lives of most everyone in our community. As tragic as it’s been, it has also brought out our best. Everyone has come together to provide for those in need. Local small business is no exception.

House Calls evacuated humans and animals inside the fire lines and called to wake people who were sleeping when the local fires broke out.  We brought animal feed to evacuees and those sheltering in place and donated to human and animal needs. Sitter homes were filled with evacuated animals needing emergency housing. We are not alone in being part of the solution.

  • Western Ranch and Feed has been a leader in getting animal and human needs met. They have accepted donations and distributed supplies to humans and animals in need
  • Becca Hintz (aka my co-pilot) at Wintegrity K9 dog training was in the field conducting evacuations and delivering animal feed and supplies. She housed evacuated animals in her barn and home.
  • Erica at Happy Campers Kennel has been offering free board for dogs and cats displaced by the fire.
  • Shawna Moriarty at The T-Shirt Chick Vacaville created Vacaville Strong shirts and masks. All proceeds were donated to worthy causes.
  • Lisa Rico gathered artists in a Facebook Group called the  Vacaville Fire Art Project. Proceeds generated from these wonderful works were split between local non-profit animal rescues and the Travis Credit Union Foundation Fire Fund.

I could go on and on. Our Community is Absolutely Vacaville Strong!
