“Finding Rover” application is a dog locator service.

 

Help Finding lost dogs has arrived and its name is “Finding Rover”. This is a technologically advanced system designed to pair pet owners and shelters with their communities. Sign up, take pictures of all of your pets and you will be prepared if your dog goes missing!   The Solano County Animal Care has signed on to use the Finding Rover application service.

 

Finding Rover uses a facial recognition technology to identify lost and found dogs, in real-time from a smartphone or computer. This needed website for finding lost dogs features a lost and found dog notification system. You simply post your lost dog’s picture, the application then sends a push notification to social media-feed. The photo sends alerts to users within a 10-mile radius. When a user spots a lost dog, he/she can take a photo either within the application or upload the photo from a device’s photo album.  When the dog has been found and identified, the finder will receive information on how to notify the owner.
